MADAGASCAR : Jubilee of Priestly Ordination
On 9 February 2014, Fathers Charles Rabergeau and Jean Jagu, together with the Montfortian confrères, friends and parishioners of St. Therese of the Child Jesus Parish, Salazamay, Tamatave have celebrated the 50th anniversary of their Priestly Ordination which took place at Montfort-sur-Meu, France, on 9 February 1964.
Father Charles presided at the thanksgiving Eucharist, while Father John proclaimed the Gospel. It was Fr. Alexander who had the privilege to preach the homily highlighting the missionary zeal and perseverance that Charles and John have shown and how indefatigably they carried on their Montfortian mission in the Diocese of Tamatave for the last fifty years. These are the older priests, proudly representing the work of evangelization in the Diocese of Tamatave and are our elderly Montfortian confrères in the vice-province of Madagascar. They offered their thanksgiving to the Lord with Mary for what has been and for what will be since they feel fit and ready to continue their mission joyfully serving the Lord and the church. Everyone who came for the celebration showed gratitude and appreciation to both the missionaries and wished them the best for the future.
