Starting this school year, the Montfort Missionaries- Philippine Delegation will be sending seminarians to the SMM International Scholasticate in India. The first group of Filipino scholastics who will study at Maria Bhavan in Bangalore are Brothers Ronald Baruela, Juvy Adivino, Jayvi Lusung, Joel Padua, and Francois Ancheta. These five scholatics left Manila on May 15, 2014 and arrived in Bangalore at midnight of the same day. They were welcomed at the airport by some familiar faces: Fr. Cletus, the Provincial Superior; Fr. Reni, who worked as socious at the International Notiviate in the Philippines for some years; and Bro. Blaise, who did his novitiate in the Philippines two years ago. After a 42 kilometer ride from the airport they finally reached their destination, Maria Bhavan seminary, at around 2:30 am on the following day.
After 10 days, a newly ordained Filipino priest, Fr. Rene Bustillo, followed them in India to become part of the team of formators who will take care of the scholastics. He will, at the same time take some courses for formators to prepare himself for his ministry.
We look forward for the success of their studies and for a meaningful and fruitful experience in an international community.
