Providence at Work

CEBU, Philippines- “Give thanks to the Lord for he is good, for his love endures forever” (Ps. 136). This line captures how God’s providence is experienced again and again by the SMM Philippine Delegation and the people of Cebu. Last Sunday, 26th October, Fr. Paul Arnel Lucero, SMM blessed the new structure covering the Basketball Court at the Montfort Postulancy and Mission House in Calajoan, Minglanilla.  This project is realized through the generosity of the Dutch Province of the Montfort Missionaries and with the approval of Fr. Santino Brembilla, SMM, Superior General. The financial assistance of the Dutch confreres became a concrete sign of God’s Providence. As the number of Mass-goers has been rapidly increasing, this structure will become a multi-purpose facility that will serve as a venue for the Sunday masses. It will also serve as venue for big gatherings of the lay faithful such as Totus Tuus Journey (TTJ) activities, seminars and other religious activities. The place will also be used for sports activities of the seminarians as well as the youth in the area.  

The inauguration was attended by many people including the TTJers, Sunday Mass-goers, friends and the Daughters of Wisdom. The Blessing was followed by the solemn celebration of the Holy Mass and then the TTJ sessions in preparation for the Montfortian Consecration. Past 12 noon, everybody shared a simple meal together.
