21st Anniversary of Sta. Teresita Parish and Installation of the New Parish Priest - News Updates - Montfort Missionaries Philippines

Last Friday July 12, 2013, Sta. Teresita Parish celebrated its 21st anniversary as a parish coupled with the installation of Father Richard J. Magararu, SMM as the new Parish Priest. Father John Barro, Vicar Forane was the  mass presider. Two priests from the Vicariate and SMM priests concelebrated.  Fr. John was delegated by Luis Antonio Cardinal Tagle, the Archbishop of Manila to install the new parish priest.

The installation rites started with the reading of the appointment letter by Fr. Paul Arnel Lucero, SMM.  Fr. Richard then pronounced the profession of faith followed by the handing of the key of the tabernacle. The Vicar Forane reminded Fr. Richard of his duty to bring Jesus to the people and bring people to Jesus. It was a simple but meaningful ceremony.

Fr. John preached at the mass where he focused on the 21 year-journey of the parish.  He asked these three questions to the parishioners: Have we become a forgiving community? Have we become a loving community? Have we become a walking community?

Three simple questions, but have we become any of the three?  These are nice questions to ponder as the parish continue its journey with new pastor and co- pastors namely Fr. Angelo Pusikit, SMM and Fr. Rene Bustillo, SMM.

A simple meal was served at the multi-purpose hall after the mass.
