“What I am asking for? Liberos! Free men…." (PM 7-12).  This was the heart of the message of our Assistant General Fr. Yoseph Dwi’s homily on the occasion of the First Religious Profession of the eight novices last August 1, 2013 at the Montfort International Novitiate Chapel in San Jose del Monte City, Bulacan. He challenged the novices to be ‘these men’ whom St. Louis de Montfort prayed for in the Prayer for Missionaries. The names of the novices who made their first vows before Fr. Dwi are: 1) Bro. Jayvi Dimalanta LUSUNG, SMM from the Philippines, 2) Bro. Francois Leonard Perlas ANCHETA, SMM from the Philippines, 3) Bro. Juvy Arcenas ADIVINO, SMM from the Philippines, 4) Bro. Joseph Gabriel KUDZALA, SMM from Malawi, 5) Bro. Benedicto TURIBAMWE, SMM from Uganda, 6) Bro. Ronald Bithao BARUELA, SMM from the Philippines, 7) Bro. Paul Halliday Pascal KUMWENDA, SMM from Malawi and 8) Bro. Steve Davidson MUKUSA, SMM from Malawi.
The celebration of the Holy Mass started at 10am with more than a dozen of Montfortian Priests as concelebrants, with the parents and relatives of the novices and the people living near the Novitiate House. Fr. Wim Peeters, SMM, Novice Master, Fr. Paul Arnel Lucero, SMM, Delegation Superior of the Philippines and Fr. Sherwin Nuñez, SMM, International Novitiate Socius and Bursar assisted Fr. Dwi during the entire ceremony. After the Eucharist, everybody shared the meal prepared for the occasion. A short program later on entertained the guests.
