3.3 Prayer
STAGE 3: In Communion with Mary
MARY AND BAPTISM
THE VOLUNTARY WAY
PRAYER
Rosary
With St. Louis-Marie de Montfort, let us meditate on the “perfect practice” that enables us to live our Baptism freely, voluntarily and responsibly (cf. TD 118).
Incomparable: “I have never known or heard of any devotion to our Lady which is comparable to the one I teach”.
Selfless: “No other devotion calls for more sacrifices for God, none empties us more completely of self and self-love”.
Grace-filled: “No other devotion keeps us more firmly in the grace of God and the grace of God in us”.
Christ-like: “No other devotion unites us more perfectly and more easily to Jesus”.
Fulfilling: “No devotion gives more glory to God, is more sanctifying for ourselves or more helpful to our neighbour”.
Concluding Prayer
- Litany of Our Lady (Just click or tap) or
- Prayer of “Confidence in Mary”, by John Damascene (676-749) (cf. TD 182).
If I confide in you,
Mother of God,
I shall be saved.
Under your protection
I shall fear nothing.
With your help
I shall rout all my enemies.
For devotion to you
is a weapon of salvation
which God gives
to those he wishes to save.
